Three countries, one region.
What you find when you pull the door shut behind you.
Voeren is a Flemish enclave in Wallonia, squeezed in between the Netherlands and Germany. Hilly, green, and, unlike South Limburg just over the border, remarkably quiet. No herds of day-trippers, no theme parks. Instead: old chapels, sunken lanes, farms that are still working farms, and cafés where the landlady remembers your name after one visit.
Teuven sits right in the middle of that landscape. From Maison Campagnard you're on a walking trail in ten minutes, in a Dutch village in a quarter of an hour, and in Maastricht or Aachen in half an hour.
Fancy a look around beforehand? Toerisme Voerstreek has a good overview of walking routes and restaurants nearby.

Things to do and places to go.
Walking
The Voeren walking network has some 124 kilometres of waymarked trails. From an hour around the village to a full day through woods and meadows. We leave route maps ready for you, for serious walkers and for those who'd rather do three kilometres and then find a café terrace.
Cycling
Classic cycling country: the Amstel Gold Race practically rides past the front door. Road bike: loops of 60 to 100 km with plenty of climbing. Mountain bike: one of the finest networks in Limburg.
Food and drink
From local beers by the fire to a surprising restaurant in an old school building. The area is full of good places to eat, see below.
A day further afield
Maastricht (25 min) · Aachen (35 min) · Liège (45 min, La Batte market on Sundays) · Three-Country Point (20 min, a bit kitsch but fun with kids).
Good places, within cycling distance.

Meals without the hassle: sorted by the neighbours.
Lo-Ghis is a lovely cluster of luxury holiday homes and a B&B with a pool and sauna, close by in Sint-Pieters-Voeren. The driving force is Ghislaine, and Ghislaine likes to go the extra mile. She's happy to help think through meals and packages for large groups. What that means in practice depends on the moment and the group. Have a look at her page or get in touch.
Packages from €13.50 per person, to order from Ghis via WhatsApp.
Breakfast package
A basket at the door with everything in it. We'll leave the details to Ghis.

Tried and tested with our two.
For the little ones (like our youngest): no theme park needed. A meadow, a stick, a few cows at a safe distance, and half the afternoon is gone. For the bigger ones (like our eldest): this is where they learn to ride the kind of bike routes they'd never dare in the city. And if it rains, Maastricht is 25 minutes away.
Welcome everywhere.
Frieda loves it here, and dogs are very welcome. In Voeren every walking trail is a dog trail: woods, meadows, sunken lanes. On the lead, mind you, because there are cows and sheep grazing everywhere. It never gets boring.
